Courtney Hedwyn’s journey on The Voice Kids UK can only be described as phenomenal. Her rendition of “And I’m Telling You,” famously belted out by Jennifer Hudson, showcased her extraordinary vocal range and powerful delivery, captivating everyone with her unique flair.
From the get-go, Courtney’s finale performance was spellbinding. She dominated the stage with an undeniable presence, combining her vocal strength with expressive dance moves and compelling expressions that brought the song’s deep emotions to life.
Jennifer Hudson’s iconic number seemed tailor-made for Courtney’s distinct talent, allowing her to pour soul and authenticity into a rendition that arguably rivaled the original.
Courtney’s electric performance that day has etched her name into The Voice Kids UK’s Hall of Fame, but did you know that after that endeavor, the talented prodigy also participated in America’s Got Talent afterward? In Season 13 of the renowned American show, Courtney rocked the stage with her powerful renditions of “Papa Got a Brand New Bag,” “Born to Be Wild,” and so many more.
One of her performances impressed so much, that Judge Howie Mandel even graced her with the coveted Golden Buzzer – a living proof of Courtney’s insane vocal prowess.
“The Voice Kids U.K. songs were chosen for me and I had to try and make them mine. With America’s Got Talent, I’m allowed to be myself and I like that a lot,” Courtney recalled her AGT adventure back in 2018.
Although her participation in both competitions was met with some backlash, there’s no denying that these two incredible journeys have propelled Courtney’s name to greater heights. Signing with Syco Music and Arista Records in late 2018, Courtney then showcased her songwriting talent on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” with “Pretty Little Thing,” her debut original track.
Recognized as one of the top 50 contestants in “AGT’s” global history, Courtney’s 2023 saw her releasing five singles, with “Monster” making an impressive entry on Billboard’s “Hard Rock Digital Song Sales” chart.
