Filipino Singers Nailed Celine Dion’s “All By Myself,” And Simon’s Intervention Made It Even Better

L6, a Filipino group comprising five siblings and their niece, took the AGT stage with a stirring rendition of Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” that hits different.

Starting with an emotional tribute to their late mother’s dream, the group poured their hearts into the performance. Their voices resonated with raw emotion as they sang that captivated both the audience and judges—Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara, who were visibly impressed. Simon, however, appeared “distracted” so he forced them to stop.

“Everyone, I wanna say something,” he shared as the crowd loudly booed. “There are a lot of singing groups. I’m gonna do something, which I think is gonna help you. Lose the track… In my opinion, the track was terrible. And there aren’t that many great acapella groups, and I think you’ve got the potential to be a great acapella group.”

Amidst cheers from the crowd, L6 heeded Simon’s advice and performed without background music. Surprisingly, they flawlessly adapted their performance, delivering a breathtaking audition.

L6 received a heartfelt standing ovation as soon as the performance came to an end. Once the audience quieted down, the judges showered them with respect and praise.

Simon said “You could tell instantly, this is a great singing group. How you just took on everything without a track— you were more unique. It was more special. It was more memorable. And you just absolutely nailed that.”

The video of their performance was shared on social media and got much attention. Within 10 days, it has garnered 1.8M views and 41K likes on YouTube.

An online viewer wrote, “I felt like I was listening to an angelic choir instead of six people. Something tells me this can be a group go on tour and sell singles everywhere around the world.” Another continued, “No need autotune no need back grounds music just pure 100 percent voice and talent.”
