Everyone Was Shocked By Elvis Presley’s Surprise Appearance On AGT
Elvis Presley’s music will never die. Until now, a lot of people still immerse into hits like “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, “Jailhouse Rock” and so on. But who would’ve thought he’d come back to life in a special way?
On September 13, 2022, Metaphysic — the AI performance duo of Chris Ume and Tom Graham — amazed everyone with a deepfake Elvis Presley performance featuring the judges.
This impressive technological show had Elvis tribute singer Emilio Santoro on stage, dressed in an unbuttoned black shirt and a gold suit jacket covered in rhinestones, just like the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Backup singers Makayla Phillips (an AGT season 13 semi-finalist) and Las Vegas entertainer Lorena Peril joined Santoro. But the twist was that judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara were also part of the performance.
The Elvis avatar launched the performance with “Hound Dog,” exciting the audience, who never thought they’d see The King on stage again. With signature lip curls and hip-shaking, it felt like Elvis Presley was alive and well.
The avatar then moved into “You’re The Devil In Disguise,” with AGT judges Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara joining in as backup singers.
The highlight came when an avatar of Simon Cowell appeared on screen to sing the lively verse: “You’re a devil in disguise!”
Cowell, usually composed, was left speechless by the moment. After that, Cowell and Elvis traded verses while Klum and Vergara danced along to the rhythm.
The judges were “blown away” and all shook up by MetaPhysic’s Elvis routine.
When the performance ended, Sofia Vergara exclaimed, “It was amazing! I think it’s so much fun when you came into the show” while Heidi called MetaPhysic “beyond goods’
Simon noted, “Let’s remember what this night is all about: It’s about winning, it’s about the money, and more importantly, it’s about being in Vegas. This, in my opinion, is probably the most incredible, original act we’ve ever had. You’re so creative. You’re going to have your own show in Vegas, no question about it, at the Luxor Hotel. Get ready.”
