Chance the Rapper, a celebrated figure in the music industry, is not just a dynamic performer and innovative artist; he’s also a devoted father to his two daughters, 7-year-old Kensli and 4-year-old Marli. During a heartwarming interview on the TODAY show, Chance couldn’t hide his joy when discussing the delights of fatherhood.
”When they get excited to see me, that feels really good,” told a jubilant Chance.
The artist also added how he found joy in blending learning with fun, engaging his daughters with science experiments and museum visits. Chance gleefully disclosed how both his daughters are following in his musical footsteps, with Marli taking up drums and Kensli exploring the trumpet and piano. “They don’t know the difference between released an unreleased music, so I play stuff for them all the time, and they ask for a song on Apple Music or whatever and they can’t find it, they freak out. And I’m like, ‘No, it’s just not out yet,” Chance explained.
Chance has shown off his daughter’s early ears for music multiple times. In December 2023, he shared a precious moment when he brought Marli onstage to a concert in Mexico, where she started singing his tune ”Work Out” to an adoring crowd.
Chance just loves involving his daughters in his own musical projects. Last December, during a live show in Mexico he even brought the younger daughter, Marli onstage, and the both of them sang Chance’s song “Work Out” to fans. He also shared a heart-melting duet of “Part of Your World” between him and Marli for the latter’s fourth birthday, showcasing the special bond they share through music last August.

Chance’s involvement in The Voice, while exciting for his daughters, does come with its challenges, as they miss him when he’s away. However, they’re big fans of the show, eagerly watching the live performances and even attempting to call him mid-show through Marli’s new watch phone.
