In 2014, Chris made the life-altering decision to become Lola’s full-time caretaker. Instead of going out with friends or chasing big dreams, he stayed by her side. He chose to devote himself wholeheartedly to ensuring Lola’s comfort and happiness in her golden years.

Taking care of an elderly person isn’t easy. It takes a lot of patience and time. Therefore, some people choose to put their grandparents in care homes with the latest technologies and experienced staff who can care for them.
But Chris wanted his grandma to stay at home, where she felt comfortable. “Everybody else was working and I’d rather just take care of Grandma because she took care of me since I was a young boy and I don’t want to see her in home care.”
Thanks to Chris, his 96-year-old grandma can enjoy her golden years at home, with her loved ones by her side. She’s especially happy to have her grandson Chris around, who she loves dearly and is really proud of.

Chris started sharing his caring journey on social media to show people what the life of a full-time caretaker looks like. Also, he wanted to inspire others to care for their loved ones.
He doesn’t want people to feel sorry for him; he feels lucky to be able to spend so much time with his grandma.
“She can’t move and she’s bound to her bed. But because she’s just extremely grateful for even the smallest things in life, it just makes her life more worth it,” Chris shared.
Through his posts, Chris shows how much joy he brings to his grandma’s life. Even though she can’t move around much, she’s always grateful for the little things, which makes Chris happy too.
