This Wholesome Duet Between Art Garfunkel And His Son (Again) Will Make Your Eyes All Teary

In a touching moment that captured our hearts in 2019, Art Garfunkel, known for his role in the iconic folk-rock duo Simon and Garfunkel, delivered an enchanting rendition of ‘Devoted To You’ and ‘Let It Be Me’ by The Everly Brothers, alongside his son, James Garfunkel.

James, also affectionately known as Art Garfunkel Jr, was born in 1990, and has graced the stage with his father on several occasions, notably making a memorable appearance at the Arthur Ashe Stadium at just 12 years old during the US Open in 2002.

The performance served as a heartfelt homage to Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers, who passed away in 2014. By choosing ‘Devoted To You’ and ‘Let It Be Me’, hits that soared in popularity during the 1950s and 1960s, the Garfunkels paid tribute to Phil’s enduring legacy.

Art Garfunkel embarked on a tour that spanned the year 2019, starting in the US and wrapping up in Germany by November. The tour saw performances in various locations across the US, the UK, and Germany, delighting audiences with his timeless music.

Prior to their performance, Art introduced his son with evident pride, calling him his ‘pride and joy’. The bond between father and son was palpable as they shared the stage, singing closely into the same microphone, accompanied by guitarist Tab Laven and keyboardist Paul Beard. The family performance has since spread across social media, resonating with fans for its seamless blend of two generations of talent.

The audience’s enthusiastic response, filled with cheers and applause, underscored the impact of their wholesome collaboration. Many have shared how the performance offered solace and joy, brightening their spirits. Hopefully, Arthur Jr. will get the chance to follow his father again on tours for years to come.
