This Lovely Cat Thinks He Is Not Any Different From His ‘Brothers’

Meet Kiki, an American Shorthair cat who feels and acts as if he is a dog. He often sits on command, begs for delicious treats, and loves to play fetch.

Kiki is a cat but after years of living with three Shiba Inus, he shows a lot of canine behaviors. He even infiltrated the gang of dogs, and the dogs don’t even realize there’s a spy among them!

According to their owners, they had three Shibas but the wife also wanted a cat. “The reason why I wanted to expand our family with a cat rather than a dog was quite simple: I’ve had a cat in the past,” the woman told Bored Panda. “But when I told my husband that I wanted a kitty, I learned he wasn’t very fond of cats. I kept at it, but he refused every time. After some time, however, I was able to find a cat we both liked.”

They started looking for a gray kitty with short fur and standing ears. “I also looked for a breed that was really compatible with dogs. Eventually, we settled on the American Shorthair.”

Finally, they found Kiki from a breeder in Kanagawa and soon took him home. They introduced Kiki to the dogs and the animals fell in love with each other immediately. Now, he bonds with his Shiba siblings, and he’s even started to act like them!

They all are really photogenic.

“I took Kiki and our dogs to a Shiba Inu party,” their mom said. “Kiki was getting along with all the dogs just fine, but one of them suddenly started barking at him. Immediately, one of our Shibas, Saki, barked back, protecting Kiki. At that point, I understood they’ve become true companions.”

Now, Kiki and the Shibas are doing everything together, and they are inseparable. “The Shibas are usually quiet at home, so Kiki seems to be able to rest whenever he wants with a peaceful mind,” the cat’s owner added. “Sometimes Kiki does something athletic before going to bed at night and joins us in the bedroom to get some sleep.”

“I often hear that it’s the dogs who get used to their owner’s sleeping schedule, and cats are the jerks who get up early and wake you up at 4 AM or something like that, but Kiki also sleeps together with the rest of us until morning.” Seems like happy families grow alike despite what species their members are.
