The Epic Sing-Off Between Michael Bublé And Josh Groban

Can a harmless prank turn into an unforgettable memory? In the case of Michael Bublé and Josh Groban, the answer is “yes.”

At one of his concerts, Michael Bublé, a legendary jazz singer, playfully startled his fans by declaring a sudden disinterest in jazz. Imagining him abandoning his signature genre was beyond belief for the audience.

“Is he kidding, is he serious? I’m serious! I don’t even like jazz to be honest with you,” he continued. He then compared jazz to a blues band that fell down the stairs. Then, with a twinkle in his eye, he teased about a new phase in his career, humorously challenging Josh Groban by stating he was set to “kick Josh Groban’s little butt.”

Asking his band to strike up a tune, what followed was a Groban-inspired rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s iconic anthem “I Will Survive.” The crowd erupted in cheers at this unexpected performance, which only set the stage for an even more spectacular moment.

Because Michael impersonated Josh Groban, later Josh’s appearance became magical. Josh watched Bublé’s performance from behind, and then stepped into the spotlight, shaking his head in mock disapproval. He then delivered his own impression of Bublé, adding to the comedic contrast of their musical styles.

The entire act was captured on video and their dynamic ‘sing-off’ became an internet sensation, garnering 19.6 million views. The artists then proposed a musical challenge, agreeing to perform each other’s hits. You shouldn’t miss this fabulous performance in the video below.

Michael bravely attempted Josh’s hit “You Raise Me Up,” with Josh providing guidance to help Michael reach those soaring operatic notes. Following the performance, Josh took on “Fly Me To The Moon,” perfectly mimicking Michael’s signature swagger and rhythmic finger snaps.
