Thai Woman Accidentally Turns Pet Cat Into Yellow While Treating Her Fungal Infection With Turmeric

If you think that this is a photo of a bright yellow cat, you are wrong. Read on to find out how it happened.

Recently, a Facebook user and a cat owner named Thammapa Supamas from Thailand shared some photos of her cat on social media that left everyone confused. The post quickly went viral and gained thousands of shares, likes, and comments from people around the world.

As it turned out, this poor cat had a fungal infection. In order to cure the ringworm, Supamas used turmeric – an Indian spice and medicinal herb used to treat infections and accidentally dyed the cat yellow.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Supamas said that she was worried about her cat’s infection. She tried everything to treat the ringworm but nothing worked. That was when she asked her mom for advise, and her mother told her to use turmeric. But instead of covering just the affected area, she covered the whole body cat.

“My cat Ka-Pwong had ringworm, we did everything to cure it, but nothing worked. That was when my mother had the idea of using turmeric. At first, she painted it on the ringworm but as there was a lot left, she decided to paint the whole body to prevent future mycoses,” Supamas said.

The turmeric scrub seemed to have worked pretty well, and the feline’s poorly paws are starting to improve. But unfortunately, it changed the color of Ka-Pwong and turned her into something of a Pikachu lookalike.

Moreover, it was not easy to wash the distinct color off as it wouldn’t wash off.

It’s not exactly what Supamas intended, but the results are pretty cute, you’d have to admit.

Supamas even photoshopped some photos to make her cat look even more similar to Pikachu.

“My cat may not even know it turns yellow now. Now the cat is cheerful and eats a lot as usual,” Supamas said.

Turmeric is known to reduce signs of ageing and decrease inflammation. Although it reduced itching and not licking the wound area, we think that it shouldn’t be repeated without consulting a vet.

Supamas hopes that the color will fade away and her cat’s fur will change. “I hope the fungus is cured, I still have to hope that my cat will turn white as well.”

Here’s how the cat looked before and after the turmeric scrub
