Sydnie Christmas Wowed Everyone With Her Pitch-Perfect Rendition Of “Over The Rainbow”
Singer Sydnie Christmas became the winner of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent 2024, securing 27.2% of the vote. She outperformed magician Jack Rhodes, who came in second, and the mother-daughter dance duo Abigail and Afronitaaa, who placed third. The talented girl received a £250,000 cash prize and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
On the night of June 2, she amazed the nation with a stunning, reimagined rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” For what she performed throughout the competition, Sydnie Christmas undeniably became one of the most favorite candidates.
On that night, she also made everyone disappointed. She stepped onto the stage for her final performance and reached new heights with her powerful vocals, securing first place with this classic song.
After the rendition, judge Amanda Holden couldn’t hide her admiration as she said, “I know how long you have waited for this moment, it was utterly spellbinding and perfect in every way. It was just gold dust.”
Fellow judge Bruno Tonioli chimed in, “That is what I call a show-stopping performance. You took my breath away.”
Alesha Dixon shared her emotions, saying, “You just radiate hope and joy and light. And there was something about that performance and that emotion, I felt it move through my body with you.”
Simon Cowell added, “That was really something special. That lyric felt so personal to you about what you must have wanted over the years with a God-given talent like that and for whatever reason you’ve been ignored. I actually felt very emotional.”
Scrolling through the video’s comments, it’s clear people from all over the world are showering her with praise for her final performance on the show.
One Youtube viewer wrote, “She puts her whole heart and soul to the songs she sings. Like Judy Garland or Liza Minnelli used to do. That makes the difference between her and other singers with good voices.”
Once again, we congratulate Sydnie on her win and look forward to seeing more of her performances in the future.
