During the opening match of the U.S. Open, the tennis star sported a tutu despite previous fuss about her on-court attire.
Bernard Giudicelli, head of the French Tennis Federation, forbade Williams from wearing the suit following the 2018 event. Williams explained that the catsuit, inspired by Black Panther, aided her in avoiding blood clots after childbirth.
Nike responded with a powerful statement backing the tennis star: “You can take the superhero out of her costume, but you can never take away her superpowers.”
Williams talked about the fuss surrounding her game against Magda Linette on Monday while wearing a unique tennis outfit.
Nike and Off-White, with Virgil Abloh from Louis Vuitton, created the outfit, which was a big hit. Off White posted on Instagram all about her special uniform.

The winner replied in a comment, expressing gratitude to Abloh for making a stylish and practical tennis outfit.
No matter what Giudicelli stated, supporters went on Twitter to support Serena and express affection for the black tennis tutu.
“This outfit deserves to win,” one poster tweeted. “Serena Williams is going to serve black excellence with or without a dress code,” wrote another. “I think the French tennis president needs to have respect for women’s bodies and accept that they come in a multitude of shapes, sizes, and colors,” said another.
