Richard Goodall Teamed Up With Members Of Journey For A Legendary AGT Performance

Indiana janitor Richard Goodall went from humble beginnings to nationwide fame as he was crowned the “Audition of the Season” winner on America’s Got Talent Season 19. The 55-year-old won the judges over his heartfelt rendition of Journey’s 1981 anthem, “Don’t Stop Believin’.” His spectacular performance earned him one of the coveted Golden Buzzers from Heidi Klum.

For the finale of the show, Goodall took a bold step: he performed Don’t Stop Believin’ one more time. Reflecting on his decision, he shared, “I started with Journey, I wanted to end the competition with Journey. And then little did I know I was going to be a big footnote at the end of the book… Phenomenal.”

Adding to the excitement, Journey guitarist Neal Schon surprised Goodall with words of encouragement before his performance.

“Richard, it’s Neal from Journey,” said the rock and roll legend. “I loved your Audition, man, and I have a surprise for you: I’m coming to perform with you at the Finale. I will see you really soon.”

The live performance, featuring Schon and other members of Journey, has become a viral sensation, regarded as one of the most memorable musical moments in AGT.

Schon’s legendary guitar riffs perfectly complemented Goodall’s soulful voice, and their onstage chemistry was undeniable. All of them created an outstanding performance.

Dressed in sleek black leather and sporting his trademark black hat, Goodall commanded the spotlight with ease.

The show reached its peak when Schon’s iconic guitar solo, punctuated by a celebratory fist bump with Goodall. Some dazzling pyrotechnics in the background made the concert even more unforgettable.
