Priest Breaks Out His Best Dance Moves At School Homecoming
Priests are often seen as gentle, calm and compassionate, embodying kindness and empathy in their role as spiritual guides. They provide comfort and support during life’s challenges, creating a sense of trust and care.
At the same time, they are associated with seriousness and reverence, particularly during religious ceremonies.
It’s rare to see a priest dancing, which makes it all the more special when it happens. But every so often, one surprises us, breaking into a joyful dance that lights up the room
A priest from South Florida is stealing hearts across the nation with his energetic dance moves at a high school event. Father Ricardo Rivera Ortiz surprised students at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale by jumping into the middle of a homecoming prep assembly dance routine. His lively performance was met with thunderous cheers.
The priests at my high school didn’t move like this.

The video shows a lively performance on the basketball court, with the cheerleaders and dance team forming a line, ready to wow the crowd. Then, to everyone’s surprise, Father Ricardo steps into the scene, wearing his priest robe and collar.
With confident, wide-open arms, he effortlessly becomes part of the routine, matching the fast-paced choreography with incredible precision. His graceful moves and perfect timing make it hard to believe this wasn’t a regular part of the act.
The high school wrote on its Twitter page when sharing the video of the priest, ‘There’s nothing like a #Gibbons pep rally! #DancingPriest.”
