Nic Collins Proves His Talent With Electrifying Drum Solo Live
Nic Collins, son of legendary drummer Phil Collins and Orianne Cevey, found his rhythm behind the drum kit at an early age, starting as a toddler. With such a musical giant for a father, it’s no surprise he was drawn to percussion, but Nic has worked hard to carve out his own identity in the music world. His drumming isn’t just a tribute to his lineage—it’s a showcase of his own talent and dedication.
Nic’s skills have impressed audiences and seasoned musicians alike. Bassist Leland Sklar, who played alongside Nic during Phil Collins’ Not Dead Yet Tour, has commended Nic’s steady growth and remarkable consistency, proving he’s more than ready to carry on the Collins legacy.
However, many might not know that in 2009, when Nic Collins was just eight years old, his father, Phil Collins, faced serious health struggles after spinal surgery left him unable to play the drums. Over the years, as Phil dealt with nerve damage and mobility issues, Nic stepped in, first as his father’s drummer and later joining Genesis and Mike & the Mechanics.
While many might assume Nic’s rise was due to his famous last name, his career is built on talent and hard work. Phil himself has emphasized that Nic earned his spot not through nepotism, but by proving his skill and dedication.
Beyond supporting his father’s tours, Nic has carved out his own path in music. With his band, Better Strangers, he focuses on delivering raw, authentic performances, often playing intimate venues where the music takes center stage.
