Mystery Singer Turns Out To Be Jewel, Leaves Dive Bar In Awe
Jewel, known for commanding massive stadiums, took a surprising detour from the spotlight for the cozy glow of a dive bar in a hilarious undercover karaoke stunt. With the help of Funny or Die, she transformed into an ordinary businesswoman, complete with a low-key disguise.
Her mission? To belt out her own hits and see if the unsuspecting crowd would catch on. The casual setting and Jewel’s undercover performance made for a fun and memorable twist, showing her lighter side while keeping fans guessing.
The team went all-in on Jewel’s disguise, transforming her with a wig, thick Coke-bottle glasses, a large prosthetic nose, and a padded suit that completely changed her appearance. To make the setup even more convincing, she was seated with a group of middle-aged businessmen who played along, urging their colleague “Karen” to take the stage and sing.
The crowd enthusiastically joined in, cheering for “Karen” to perform. But when she finally began singing, the audience was blown away by the incredible voice behind the quirky disguise.
At first, “Karen” seemed a bit reserved, but the moment she started singing “Who Will Save Your Soul,” her unmistakable country-pop voice filled the air and left the audience in awe. Many were visibly stunned, with some even standing in amazement as the performance unfolded.
When the song ended, the crowd erupted, calling for more. Still in disguise, she answered their cheers with an emotional rendition of “Foolish Games,” sparking a wave of excitement. Fans sang along and waved their hands, completely captivated by the surprise performance.
The crowd still believed she was an ordinary businesswoman with an extraordinary voice until she left the stage briefly, shed her disguise, and returned to surprise everyone with a true performance.
This time, she sang her hit “You Were Meant For Me,” sparking an enthusiastic singalong that filled the room with energy. She said, “the whole bar was singing along. I wrote that song when I was 18 and here we are years later and the whole bar and karaoke kids are all singing it. Everybody knew all the words – it was really sweet.”
