Kelly Clarkson And Her 9-Year-Old Daughter Blew The Stage Away With Their Wholesome Duet
Kelly Clarkson shared an unforgettable moment with her 9-year-old daughter River Rose by performing “Heartbeat Song” together as a duet. This heartwarming performance took place during one of the final shows of Clarkson’s Chemistry residency at Planet Hollywood in Vegas. Both dressed elegantly, Clarkson and River Rose exchanged glances and joyfully sang together on stage, creating a delightful scene for everyone involved.
“Heartbeat Song” was chosen for a special reason – it’s River Rose’s favorite. She confidently sang alongside her mom, holding her own throughout the performance. While Clarkson’s powerful vocals dominated, River Rose’s contribution shone through, especially during the verses and bridge, captivating the audience. The performance video quickly went viral, amassing 1.5 million views on YouTube.
Clarkson revealed to the audience how River Rose had expressed her desire to perform this particular song, a track she’s adored since infancy. River Rose even selected her own dress for the occasion and impressed everyone during the soundcheck with her skills.
The audience was deeply moved by the duo, leaving comments praising the memorable experience and River Rose’s budding talent. On the following night, Clarkson upped the ante by inviting River Rose to perform again, this time alongside her younger brother Remington Alexander, adding an extra layer of charm to the residency’s closing moments.
Kelly Clarkson’s children, River Rose and Remington Alexander were born on June 2014 and April 2016, respectively, during her marriage to Brandon Blackstock, whom she wed on October 20, 2013. The marriage came to an official end in March 2022, concluding a lengthy and highly publicized divorce process.
“Heartbeat Song,” a standout track from Clarkson’s seventh studio album “Piece by Piece,” garnered significant acclaim, achieving Platinum status in the United States and marking Clarkson’s most successful single in the last ten years. The song soared to the top of the US Dance Club Songs chart and secured top 10 positions on various international charts.
The song’s creation involved songwriters Mitch Allan, Kara DioGuardi, Jason Evigan, and Audra Mae. However, its similarity to Jimmy Eat World’s 2001 hit “The Middle” sparked a bit of a stir among listeners and critics alike due to the resemblance in chords and melody.
Addressing the controversy, Clarkson stated, “I didn’t write the song, I just sang it. But I didn’t catch that. Nobody behind the scenes did… I thought it was really cool of Jimmy Eat World to say, ‘Hey, no harm, no foul.’ There are only so many chords.”
Luckily, Jimmy Eat World decided not to pursue the case any further, despite his chance of success. Therefore, the credits for “Heartbeat Song” still don’t include the band as co-writers.
