Simon And Garfunkel’s Iconic “The Sound Of Silence” Is Perfectly Rendered By These Talented Brothers

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, collectively known as Simon and Garfunkel, were central figures in the 1960s music scene, capturing hearts with their hauntingly beautiful track, “Sound of Silence,” the song that would later become a worldwide hit for generations. Interestingly, its initial acoustic release in 1964 didn’t catch fire until a remix featuring electric guitars hit the airwaves a year later, skyrocketing to fame without the duo even knowing.

The song’s creation was sparked by Simon’s reflective period in England, surrounded by its serene and dauntingly silent landscapes, leading to lyrics that express a deep sense of solitude and disconnection.

“Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk to you again…”

And now, these mesmerizing lyrics are perfectly portrayed by another duo, called The Rabbi Brother.

The Rabbi Brothers consist of two members, Avi and Moshe Kogen, who bring their own unique flair to this classic. Known for their acapella stylings of Jewish and Israeli melodies, they graced an Israeli TV talent show, The Rising Stars, with an instrumental version that truly resonated with everyone present.

Clad in traditional attire, the Kogen brothers delivered a rendition so captivating that it earned a standing ovation, proving their journey from street performances to the stage was well deserved. Simon and Garfunkel would surely be proud of this version of “The Sound of Silence,” as the Rabbi Brothers’ harmonic voices will send you into a trance as you hear.
