Groom’s Wild Dance Surprise Shakes Up Indian & Pakistani Wedding
Pakistani groom Reza Khan went all out to make his groom’s dance a memorable one when he married Puja Tailor Khan in Boston. To the surprise of wedding guests, Reza led eight of his friends in a wild, high-energy dance that seamlessly blended rap, reggaeton, and Bollywood music.
Choosing Bollywood music was a natural decision, given Puja’s Indian heritage, and the epic dance routines associated with the songs. Reza and his friends showcased an incredible performance on the dance floor, delivering a highly choreographed routine lasting over 10 minutes.
The effort and dedication put into the performance were evident, and the video quickly went viral, amassing 5.2 million views on the couple’s YouTube channel, Reza & Puja Khan.
Starting the performance with heartfelt words about his bride, Reza expressed, “I’m a lucky guy – that’s all I gotta say. Puja, you take my breath away.” He then engaged the audience in the famous call-and-response from Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls).”
Plenty of viewers applauded the extraordinary performance as one said, “How wonderful for the bride and they must have taken weeks to learn and remember all of that. She is incredibly lucky and this will be something that they will never forget for years to come. Congratulations to them both.”
Reza and his friends then took the stage, dancing to the upbeat Bollywood song “Malhari” from the historical romance film Bajirao Mastani. Their performance included the full-on dance routine from the movie, complete with jumping leg kicks, all while dressed in dinner suits. Transitioning to Elvis Crespo’s romantic Latin pop song “Suavemente,” the group continued to captivate the audience.
Surprisingly, the boys were later upstaged by Reza and Puja’s first dance, which featured a creative routine set to a mix of Western and Eastern music. The entire celebration was a testament to the couple’s vibrant cultural blend and the joyous spirit of their union.
