Emily Blunt: The Beauty Evolution Of The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Star (2004 -2024)

Emily Blunt, at 38, has firmly established herself as one of the most esteemed actresses of her generation. With notable performances in acclaimed films like “The Young Victoria,” “Into the Woods,” and “The Girl on the Train,” she has garnered widespread acclaim for her versatility and talent. However, it was her standout supporting role in “The Devil Wears Prada” that catapulted her into the spotlight.

As Miranda Priestly’s senior assistant, Blunt’s portrayal captivated audiences, earning her recognition as a scene-stealer alongside co-star Anne Hathaway. Over the years, Blunt has not only impressed with her acting prowess but has also undergone a remarkable beauty evolution. From her early days in Hollywood to her current status as a style icon, Emily Blunt’s journey reflects both her incredible talent and her evolving sense of beauty and grace.

Our initial image showcases Emily at 21, already immersed in professional theater since 18. Her natural light golden brown hair is styled in Boho waves reminiscent of Sienna Miller’s iconic look from the early 2000s. The effortless charm she exudes is striking, portraying her as effortlessly beautiful.

Following her transformation into a redhead for “The Devil Wears Prada,” Emily opted for a cool-toned auburn shade, perfectly complementing her coloring and adding to her striking appearance. It’s quite refreshing to witness her sporting such a natural look on the red carpet, a rarity in today’s glam-centric culture. Additionally, her genuine smile captivates, untouched by cosmetic enhancements like bleaching, veneers, or lip injections.

If I hadn’t seen the previous two photos, I would have thought this was Emily’s natural hair color. Dark brunette became her signature shade during her early years of fame, and it’s easy to see why—it beautifully highlights her expressive eyes. Another notable feature is her cleft chin, which adds to her unique charm. However, it seems she may have made some adjustments down the line, possibly through filler injections or even a permanent chin implant, altering the prominence of her chin.

Next, Emily embraced a brighter copper-red hair color, complemented by what seemed to be a subtle spray tan. Two notable aspects warrant attention: her defined jawline and the slightly longer distance between her nose and upper lip, known as the philtrum area. This feature can sometimes appear elongated following rhinoplasty, leading me to speculate that such a procedure may have occurred prior to 2004.

In 2008, Emily reverted to her brown hair, styled in tousled waves, paired with a minimal makeup look. Interestingly, she appears almost unrecognizable in this understated appearance. Furthermore, her nose raises speculation about a possible rhinoplasty. When facing the camera, it appears petite, and when viewed from the side, it exhibits suspicious angularity.

This particular shot may bear a resemblance to Alison Brie rather than Emily Blunt, but rest assured, it is indeed the latter. Emily appears distinctly different with darker hair, heavier makeup, and a broad smile. Notably, her smile reveals what appears to be an overbite, contributing to a slight protrusion of her teeth and a gummy smile. Additionally, this feature may also contribute to the perceived weakness of her jawline, as observed in the previous photo.

In 2010, at the age of 27, Emily adopted a softer hair and makeup style, resembling her natural self more closely. What stands out in this photo is her smile, which notably lacks the typical “Hollywood smile” brightness. However, there are subtle indications of a dental procedure. Compared to the previous year, her upper teeth appear slightly shorter, hinting at reshaping, also known as teeth shaving.

However, Emily’s natural look didn’t remain for long. Soon after, she unveiled a strikingly bright, bleached-white smile on the red carpet, although these were her original teeth before they were later replaced with veneers. Once more, you can observe signs of an overbite and a thinner upper lip in this image, both of which served as inspiration for her subsequent cosmetic enhancements. Notably, her upper lip appears to disappear when she smiles, which I consider a normal feature rather than a flaw requiring filler correction.

After that, Emily adopted the lob haircut, a trend popular among celebrities at the time, which remains just as chic today. Paired with an improved styling team, her makeup evolved to a more elevated level, evident in the sophisticated cat eyes and coordinated pink lips and cheeks. When not smiling, you can observe her jawline, which possesses characteristics predisposed to jowling.

By 2013, Emily began experimenting with blonde hair, coinciding with what appears to be a slimmer face. While this could be attributed to weight loss, there are potential indicators of other interventions. Her jawline seems more defined, suggesting procedures aimed at tightening and enhancing its appearance. Additionally, her cleft chin appears smoother, which may be the result of cosmetic enhancements. Furthermore, there’s a possibility that she began receiving conservative lip injections around this time, contributing to subtle changes in her facial appearance.

In the following year, Emily returned to being a brunette, this time with subtle Ombré ends. Did you happen to notice how much her eyebrows have grown? They’ve doubled in size compared to 2007! In terms of her features, the most noticeable change is her much plumper-looking lips compared to before. She likely began getting filler injections in both the top and bottom lips.

In 2015, Emily underwent yet another hair color change, and this particular blonde shade became my favorite of hers. The warm tones closely resemble her natural hair color from 2004, and the fine highlights and beachy texture add to its allure. Paired with the bold red lipstick, it’s challenging to determine whether she continued with the fillers, although it’s likely she did based on the overall appearance.

At the age of 33, Emily returned to dark hair for another round. This particular photo caught my attention due to her noticeably filled upper lip, which now appears fuller than the lower one. My theory is that she does this to create the illusion of less space between her nose and mouth, especially considering the possibility that this space increased after the tip of her nose was surgically shortened.

The subsequent year, Emily opted for a blonder look than ever before, incorporating numerous highlights over a light, ashy base color. While it’s an okay choice, it tends to wash out her complexion. Additionally, the makeup exacerbates the issue, as its matte and drying texture accentuates every fine line. Despite this, it’s evident that she wasn’t using Botox on her forehead or crow’s feet. However, the lip injections remain apparent, albeit not in an over-the-top manner.

A year later, Emily ventured even further with her blonde hair, opting for a lighter, solid color with dark roots and brows. Personally, I don’t think it complements her well—it actually seems to age her beyond her 35 years! However, it’s possible that this drastic change serves as a distraction from potential cosmetic procedures, such as Botox in her forehead and filler in her lips and cheeks. Additionally, it’s worth noting the absence of jowls and the disappearance of the indentation in her chin, suggesting further enhancements to her facial features.

If you found the last photo surprising, this one is even more so. The most striking change is in her teeth—we haven’t seen them since 2011, and now they’ve been replaced by oversized porcelain veneers. Personally, I don’t think the “Chiclets” look is an improvement! Additionally, there’s some unusual wrinkling on one side of her nose, suggesting that something there has been altered. Furthermore, her upper lip remains full even with a big smile, indicating the presence of filler injections.

Thankfully, Emily looked less noticeably altered during her only red carpet appearance in 2021. Although her teeth still stood out a bit, her face seemed to have regained some natural movement. Perhaps her injections just needed time to settle, leading to a more relaxed and less obvious appearance.

And that brings us to Emily’s latest press tour, for Jungle Cruise. We’ve got her makeup artist to thank for this behind-the-scenes close-up, and despite the bad lighting, she’s looking quite fresh. The subtler eyebrows and darker hair really soften her look. She’s also still doing injectables. Her lips are equally plumped, and her cheeks are obviously protruding outward now, to create a “V-shaped” face.
