Dolly Parton Joins Holly Dunn For A Memorable “Daddy’s Hands” Duet

In the late 1980s, we were treated to many stunning collaborations between country star Dolly Parton and musical stars on The Dolly Show.

One memorable episode featured Holly Dunn as the musical guest, thrilling the audience. It’s more interesting to know that Dunn agreed to appear only if Parton would join her in singing her hit, “Daddy’s Hands.”

For those who didn’t know, Holly released “Daddy’s Hands” in August 1986 from her self-titled album. The song became a major hit, reaching No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

Parton had no reason to say no because“Daddy’s Hands” was in list of her favorite country songs. On that day, they paid tribute to Dunn’s father, sharing stories about their preacher fathers.

They then delivered a heartfelt duet of Dunn’s famous song, alternating verses and harmonizing beautifully on the chorus. The audience couldn’t help but immersed themselves in their duet.

No matter how many years pass, many still remember and cherish this song. This performance brought many to tears, as they remembered Holly Dunn, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2016.
