Simon Cowell In Shock As Courtney Hadwin Makes “Born To Be Wild” Her Own On AGT
Courtney Hadwin, a 14-year-old British schoolgirl, captured the attention of millions when her energetic audition of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle” earned her a golden buzzer straight to the live semifinals. Her performance on America’s Got Talent didn’t stop there. Courtney wowed the judges once again, this time with a captivating rendition of Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild.” With each performance, she continues to prove that her talent is not only undeniable but unforgettable.
Simon Cowell couldn’t help but stand in admiration after witnessing the unique performance of a young girl from County Durham. The shy teenager shocked everyone with a loud, high-pitched scream followed by wild dance moves, leaving the judges in awe. Simon, impressed by her energy and fearless attitude, didn’t hesitate to show his appreciation, calling her a “maniac” for the bold performance.
“You’re a bundle of excitement and it’s raw and messy. I saw you at the beginning of the show, shaking like a leaf and then you come out on stage and turn into a maniac,” he complimented. “That’s why I absolutely love you.”
Courtney’s stunning performance earned her a standing ovation from Howie Mandel, who had previously given her the golden buzzer. “You were born to be wild! This was wild! You were amazing. My prediction is you’re going to be the winner,” he gushed.
Meanwhile, Heidi Klum praised Courtney for staying true to her style of music. “You bring a whole different vibe to it all. Most girls your age sing pop songs but you bring that gritty rock-n-roll, and I love that. You’re authentic and original,” the former Project Runway host said. Mel B admitted, “There’s no doubt, you’re just out there and I love it. For me I have to be really honest, I felt your nerves… and I’m not used to that with you.”
After the performance, an excited Coutney told host Tyra Banks, “I can’t believe I’ve gotten this far, I just can’t believe it.”
