On “America’s Got Talent,” they say that just a few minutes can change your life. This proved true for the singing trio Chapel Hart, whose energetic audition aired on July 19, 2022.

Their performance impressed all the judges and host Terry Crews, leading to a reaction reserved only for the most outstanding acts.

Chapel Hart, a trio from a small town in Mississippi, quickly won over the judges with their infectious enthusiasm and high energy.

They performed their original song, “You Can Have Him, Jolene,” a heartfelt tribute to Dolly Parton and her iconic hit “Jolene.” Though Dolly Parton wasn’t there, her spirit was felt through their passionate performance.

“We were so inspired by the song ‘Jolene,’ and we just love the story line. And we figured, though, from 1973 to 2022, we could not still be fighting over the same man,” singer Danica Hart said. “So we decided to tell her, ‘You can just have him, Jolene.’”

The trio had the crowd moving and grooving. When their song ended, the crowd was chanting “Golden Buzzer.”

Their lively performance even managed to bring a smile to Simon Cowell, known for being a tough critic. He remarked, “Trust me, I needed you today. That was fantastic. I love you.”

One of the group members, visibly emotional, said, “We’ve been trying to break into Nashville for the last couple of years, but it’s been kind of hard when country music doesn’t always look like us.”

The other judges couldn’t stop praising the trio either.

“I love the song. I love the energy. I love the look,” Howie Mandel said. “You say country music doesn’t look like you. That is your win because you are going to be the original.”

“Your joy is infectious and everything that you’re giving it’s received over here and I loved it,” Heidi Klum said.

“Everything was perfect. The song, the energy. You guys look like you’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’m so proud of you guys,” Sofia Vergara said.

Cowell and Klum admitted they would have given the trio the Golden Buzzer if they hadn’t already used it.

The judges then consulted with host Terry Crews, and moments later, they hit the Golden Buzzer, advancing Chapel Hart to the live rounds of the show.

The video of their performance quickly went viral, racking up 12.7 million views. Online viewers showered them with heartfelt compliments, and even Dolly Parton praised them on X, “What a fun new take on my song, Chapel Hart band!
