An 11-year-old boy with autism got a heartwarming letter from his teacher after he failed his SAT exams. Ben Twist had tried his best on the tests, but he didn’t get the results he hoped for. His teacher, Ruth Clarkson of Lansbury Bridge School & Sports College, knew that exams weren’t everything and decided to write him a touching letter.
The teacher praised Ben for his many other talents that the tests didn’t capture. She mentioned his artistic skills, his sports abilities, his musical talent, his kindness, his growing independence, and much more. She wanted him to know that he was valued and appreciated for who he was.
Ben’s mother, Gail Twist, was moved to tears when she read the letter. She was so touched by the teacher’s gesture that she shared a photo of the letter on Twitter with the caption, “In tears. A letter to my 11-year-old autistic son from his school. “These tests only measure a little bit of you.”.

Not only did it leave Ben’s mother in tears, but other Twitter users found it very moving as well
She told Metro that Ben thought the letter was ‘amazing’ and that ‘he couldn’t quite believe that someone had said all those lovely things about him’. She said the letter made him feel proud and happy
The letter went viral on social media and received thousands of likes and comments. Many people praised the teacher for her kindness and compassion, and some shared their own stories of living with autism or having autistic children.
