At the 2011 D.C. Tap Festival, Justin M. Lewis, a talented tap dance choreographer, joined forces with his six-year-old student, Luke Spring, for a remarkable performance. Known as a dance prodigy, Luke brought an impressive level of energy and talent to the stage.

Dressed in coordinated outfits of white button-downs, black pants, and black ties, the two began their routine with a friendly handshake that set the tone for their engaging performance. As they danced, they showcased their skills in a unique call-and-response segment, where each took turns responding to the other’s movements in a rhythmic dialogue.

While Luke’s youthful exuberance often took center stage, the performance highlighted the strong teamwork and connection between the experienced teacher and his young protégé. The audience cheered enthusiastically for a joyful blend of skill, creativity, and the pure love of dance that made the performance truly memorable.
