Billy Joel Brings His Daughters Onstage For A Sweet Performance Of “Don’t Ask Me Why”
During his June 8, 2024, performance at Madison Square Garden, Billy Joel made a heartwarming memory when he invited his daughters, Della and Remy, to join him on stage. The young girls, ages 8 and 6, climbed onto his piano before he launched into the Latin-inspired rhythm of his 1980 hit “Don’t Ask Me Why.”
The moment became even more adorable with the addition of his booking agent’s grandson. Billy Joel shared a bit of background about the song that adds a personal touch to the lively performance.
The upbeat energy of the song perfectly matched the playful scene unfolding as the kids had a blast near the piano, their faces lit up with smiles. Joel and the crowd shared in the excitement, especially when Della took the stage, confidently leading the audience in claps as her dad played his signature piano solo. By the end, she grabbed the mic and told the crowd, “Happy summer!”
The adorable performance has received a lot of positive feedback. One comments, “It was a GREAT concert! 3 generations of my family were there. Me, 3 of my kids and my grandson. A night to remember. MSG is the absolute best venue I’ve seen Billy Joel in.”
Another continues, “It’s funny how the kids are so used to being ” hams” in front of the camera, it’s just their young generation!”
