At Nearly 99, Dick Van Dyke Makes A Stunning Appearance In Coldplay’s Latest Video
Dick Van Dyke, the legendary star of Mary Poppins, makes a surprising appearance in Coldplay’s newest music video, just ahead of his 99th birthday. Filmed at his Malibu home, the seven-minute video offers an intimate glimpse into his life, as he reflects on his storied life and shares candid thoughts on growing older.
“I’m acutely aware that I could go any day now,” he shares, “but I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me. I’m not afraid of it.”
Set to the emotional ballad “All My Love,” the video invites viewers into the personal world of a true entertainment legend. Directed by Mary Wigmore and renowned filmmaker Spike Jonze, it weaves together moments that are both nostalgic and endearing.
The video quickly goes viral, gaining 4.5 millions within 3 days. Don’t miss it.
Fans get to see Van Dyke surrounded by treasured keepsakes, including a life-sized figure of Bert, his iconic character from Mary Poppins. The video is filled with lighthearted moments, like when Van Dyke performs “The Twizzle,” the playful dance from The Dick Van Dyke Show, as Chris Martin strums his guitar outside on the patio.
One of the most touching scenes is when Van Dyke dances barefoot with his wife, Arlene Silver, both wearing bowler hats. It’s a scene full of warmth and timeless joy, capturing a love story that feels just as iconic as his career.
The video takes an even more heartfelt turn as Van Dyke pays tribute to his children—Christian, Barry, Stacy, and Carrie Beth. He holds up a childhood photo of Stacy and shares how she brings him comfort in his dreams.
The scene becomes even more joyful when his large family, including grandchildren, joins in to sing and dance. Fans are thrilled how effortlessly Van Dyke’s timeless charm blends with the modern vibe of Coldplay’s music, creating a moment that bridges generations.

Love all his movies and TV shows. He is a very happy person.
I have always loved Dick VanDyke’s work in TV, film, and specials. I couldn’t be prouder that my oldest daughter was born on his birthday, 12/13/1977. It was like a good omen that she picked that day to come into the world. God bless Mr. VanDyke for the wonderful human being, loving family man and stellar entertainer he has always been. If I could hug him, it would be a nice, friendly and warm hug. Then I’s whisper in his ear, “The world is a better place because of you.”
I so wish Dick Van Dyke was immortal. I don’t want a world without him.
