People watching Thursday’s Judge Judy got a nice surprise—they saw Amy Schumer on the show! It was a bit unexpected but definitely made the episode more interesting.

But Amy was not, like, actually featured in the episode. She was just kinda…there?
Amy???? God I love her. 😂😂😂 @amyschumer pic.twitter.com/yJREpV6myu

My mom just sent me photos she took of Amy Schumer on an episode of Judge Judy and my mom could not be more confused. pic.twitter.com/anc3pWIk0f

Indeed, people were super thrilled, but also very confused.

Turns out, the “lawsuit” was all about Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Pretty interesting, right?
Amy didn’t waste time confirming on Instagram that she was the audience member. “Yes, it’s me! I was there on #judgejudy,” she wrote alongside her post. “My sis and I were there all day watching cases because we’re huge fans!!!!!”
She even shared a video of herself sitting in Judge Judy’s chair as proof. And if you’re one of Amy’s Instagram followers, you might have already seen hints of this cameo. She posted a few pics from the set back in May when the episode was filmed.

Moral of the story: No matter how famous or important you are, you can still appear as a background character on daytime television.
Extra, indeed.
