Aled Jones Sings “Ave Maria” In A Striking Duet With His Younger Self

Aled Jones rose to international fame as a teenage boy soprano in the 1980s, achieving a significant breakthrough in 1985 with his memorable rendition of “Walking in the Air.” Decades later, his baritone voice beautifully merges with the echoes of his iconic chorister voice in a poignant duet across the years.

In the serene ambiance of a Grade II-listed church in London, Aled delivered a soul-stirring performance of Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria,’ harmonizing with the original recording of his younger self from over 35 years ago. This unique musical collaboration bridges the gap between his youthful and current voices, creating a surreal and thrilling experience.

Reflecting on this extraordinary achievement, Aled expressed, “Being able, through the wonders of technology to combine both my young and older voices has been a surreal, thrilling and unique experience,” Aled said. “No one has ever been able to do it this way before.
