A Boy Band Amazed BGT’s Judges And Audience With “Stars” From Les Misérables

Even If you’re not a fan of Britain’s Got Talent, you definitely don’t want to miss this remarkable performance of “Stars” from the musical Les Misérables in 2014. It was delivered by a band called Collabro, consisting of five close friends named Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan, Thomas J. Redgrave, and Richard Hadfield.

When judge Alesha Dixon questioned them about their experience, they honestly admitted that they had only been together as a band for a month. This confession seemed to surprise the panel, with Simon Cowell rolling his eyes and David Walliams and Amanda Holden exchanging glances. It appeared that the expectations for Collabro were not very high.

When Alesha asked them what made them believe they had what it would take to win the competition after only a month, Matthew cheekily responded, “Natural chemistry I think”.
Then they began to sing, and Simon’s eyes widened in shock.

Richard took the lead and his voice was deep, mellow, and impeccably controlled. It was a performance that wouldn’t be out of place on the prestigious West End stage. Watch the band’s awe-inspiring performance in the video below, which has garnered over 51 million views:

The rest of the band joined in at various points, and their collective voices were simply stunning. It was hard to believe that they had only been singing together for a month; they sounded like they had been harmonizing for a decade or more. Their performance culminated in a standing ovation and thunderous applause from both the judges and the audience.

Finally, Amanda Holden spoke. She tearfully expressed how proud she was of the boys and declared their performance to be “bloody brilliant.”

Simon, who initially had low expectations, admitted that he thought they were just another boyband when they first came out. However, their delivery completely surpassed his expectations. David Walliams praised their flawless performance, and Alesha described it as one of the strongest auditions she had ever seen.
