Brad Paisley And Caylee Hammack’s Spine-Tingling “Whiskey Lullaby” At The Grand Ole Opry

In 2003, Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss joined forces to create the unforgettable “Whiskey Lullaby,” featured on Brad’s Mud On The Tires album. Though it reached Number 3 on the Country Charts, the song’s emotional depth earned it the CMA Song of the Year award and a 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA.

Widely recognized as one of the saddest country songs ever written, it has inspired countless covers, including a recent rendition by Cleto Cordero and Kaitlin Butts for her Sad Yeehaw Sessions EP. Still, there’s a timeless magic in hearing Brad’s original performance that keeps it close to fans’ hearts.

On the Grand Ole Opry’s live broadcast on Friday, Sept. 16th, 2022, Brad returned to the Opry stage, delivering a memorable performance alongside Caylee Hammack. Their duet brought fresh energy to a classic, proving once again why this song never gets old. It’s one of those performances you can’t help but revisit, no matter how many times you’ve heard it before.

Their performance was full of emotion. Paisley, with his smooth, soulful voice, perfectly conveyed the sadness and heartbreak of the song. His voice, warm and deep, brought out the song’s sorrowful story.

Caylee Hammack, with her powerful yet emotional vocals, added a beautiful touch to the duet. Her voice balanced strength and vulnerability, bringing a haunting feel to the song. Together, their harmonies were spot on, creating a perfect rendition.

Their performance has received lots of positive feedback. One comments, “What is taking the world so long to see what a treasure to country music that Caylee is? She is phenomenal! Brad is awesome as always, always enjoyable. What a great duet.”

Another adds, “I have never heard of Caylee Hammack before, but WOW!!!! She can sing country beautifully!”
