Carol Burnett And Harvey Korman Hilariously Imitate Sonny & Cher On “The Carol Burnett Show”

Throughout its iconic run, The Carol Burnett Show became a magnet for some of the biggest names in entertainment. Week after week, legendary stars from film, television, and music graced the stage, adding their own flair to the show’s unforgettable sketches.

But few guests made quite the splash like Sonny and Cher. Their infectious energy and humor made them a fan favorite, leaving live audiences eager for more every time they took the stage.

In one memorable sketch from The Carol Burnett Show titled “Stay or Go or Stay,” Carol stands alongside Sonny and Cher. But instead of letting the iconic musical duo take the spotlight, Burnett had other plans.

Clearly more interested in pitching her own material, Carol humorously steered the conversation towards a song she’d been working on just for them. Even though Sonny and Cher politely declined her offer, Burnett decided to perform it anyway, creating yet another classic, laugh-out-loud moment on her show.

It’s not long until Harvey Korman joins Carol for a hilarious song. The duo playfully mimics Sonny and Cher’s distinctive style, performing a song about loneliness with their signature exaggerated flair. Meanwhile, Sonny and Cher watch their performance, with Cher playfully keeping Sonny from running away.

While the comical team is singing, Sonny and Cher aren’t having any of it. By the end of the performance, Cher humorously grabs Sonny and hurries off stage, clearly done with the playful antics. Burnett and Korman, completely absorbed in their exaggerated performance, don’t even notice the pair leave.

Though the duo poked fun at Sonny and Cher’s iconic moves, it was all in good spirits, a lighthearted nod from two legendary comedians to their fellow stars.
