What would you do if you discovered a hidden musical gem? Some rush to tell everyone, while others keep it like a secret treasure. The principal of Marzahn-Hellersdorf School of Music chose the former, sharing it with the world.
The principal saw something special in young Akim Camara and couldn’t wait to share his talent. He reached out to the famous Dutch violinist, André Rieu, knowing this child’s abilities were far beyond his years.
Upon meeting Akim, Rieu was blown away by the boy’s natural gift for the violin and decided to mentor him. Before long, Akim went from a regular student to a rising star.
Rieu even invited him to his studio in Maastricht, where Akim’s performance moved the entire orchestra, leading to an opportunity to play at an upcoming concert.
At the André Rieu Live in New York City concert, young Camara left a lasting impression on everyone. His remarkable ability to memorize entire musical pieces after hearing them just once or twice captivated the audience.
Taking the stage at Radio City Music Hall, Camara performed the intricate “Dance of the Fairies” with a larger violin, a perfect fit for the complex music. As he began to play, the room fell silent, completely drawn in by the sheer talent and passion of this extraordinary young musician.
