The three-hour service included performances by Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, and Montgomery Gentry, but Gill’s emotional rendition touched the hearts of those in attendance the most.

On stage with Patty Loveless, Vince Gill’s sorrow was palpable as he often paused to wipe his eyes during his performance. Loveless comforted the grieving country star, who was deeply affected by his friend’s passing.
Gill’s delivery of “Go Rest High On That Mountain” was raw and heartfelt, each word echoing his pain. As he reached the second chorus, overwhelmed by emotion, Loveless stepped in to sing, giving Gill time to regain his composure.
