Meet Naudo, A Brazillian Top Chart Artist Who’s Now A Street Guitarist On The Coast Of Tenerife

Naudo Rodrigues is a name that echoes through the world of guitar aficionados. His exceptional skill places him among the world’s guitar virtuosos, leaving many to wonder why such a talent hasn’t graced the global tour stages.

A recent video on the “Juan & Naudo” YouTube channel showcases Naudo’s extraordinary rendition of Dire Straits’ “Sultans Of Swing.” His ability to navigate the intricate acoustic arrangement of this classic is nothing short of mesmerizing, a performance that would undoubtedly earn Mark Knopfler’s nod of approval.

Naudo embarked on his musical journey at just five years old, nurtured by his family’s musical heritage in Pernambuco, Brazil. Remarkably, he honed his craft without formal education, relying solely on his innate talent and dedication.

Currently, Naudo delights audiences in the beautiful coast of Tenerife, reportedly playing at the Monkey Bravo bar/restaurant in Playa de las Americas. His rendition of “Stayin’ Alive” showcases not only his mastery of the guitar but also his ability to weave bass, rhythm, and lead into a single, captivating performance.

Why not check out his version of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” as well? This beautiful rendition further cements his reputation as an unparalleled guitar maestro, and is ranked very highly mong the best.

Naudo isn’t exactly a fan of social media, so he’s pretty discreet about his private life and whereabouts. Therefore, many are wondering if the talented musician is still playing in Tenerife. Well, here’s an answer from the TripAdvisor forum: “We have so missed his music there, it’s the highlight of our holiday to sit and listen to him play.”

I guess Naudo has found his new inspiration elsewhere. While we wait for Naudo to come back, here’s a video of his cover of “Eye of the Tiger”.

Naudo’s journey includes a successful stint in Brazil, where his album “Vento Norte” with the Karetas Group topped the charts in 1982. His musical exploration then took him from London, where he promoted Afro-Brazilian tunes, to Tenerife in 1993.

For those recently in Tenerife, if you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Naudo’s performances, share your stories. It’s truly a rarity to find such a gifted musician, and more information about him would be a treasure for music lovers everywhere.
