13-year-old Afghan refugee Abu captivated the judges on The Voice Global with his breathtaking rendition of Celine Dion’s iconic song, “My Heart Will Go On.” Despite his young age, Abu sang with such heartfelt sincerity, bringing a depth and maturity to the ballad that was beyond his years.

The judges were so impressed by Abu’s talent that they didn’t waste a second before turning their chairs, eagerly wanting to be a part of his journey. As Abu shared his story, it became clear why he chose this particular song.

Abu shared that he found a connection between the characters in the movie Titanic, who were seeking a new life, and his own experience as a refugee fleeing from Afghanistan. He wanted to showcase the sadness and struggle that comes with leaving everything behind for a chance at a better future.

The boy said, “the people on the Titanic were looking for a new life in a boat going to another country. I think this is very sad. I want to show that I also fled like that.”

Watching the judges turn their chairs almost simultaneously brought an overwhelming sense of joy to Abu. The look on his face was priceless, a true reflection of the hard work and dedication he had put into his performance.

Since the video was uploaded on YouTube, it has amassed over 41 million views with 591K likes.
