11-Year-Old Boy’s Jaw-Dropping Rendition Shocks Idina Menzel

For any musical lover in the past two decades, singing alongside Idina Menzel is a beautiful dream. One young fan is lucky enough to join the “Frozen” star on stage and he even steals the show.

On July 30, 2017, at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, 11-year-old Luke Chacko attended Menzel’s concert. When she invited kids to join her for “Let It Go,” Chacko couldn’t hide his excitement.

Chacko got his big break when Idina Menzel, 46, pointed him out as the only “dude” in the group. In a video that’s gone viral, Menzel shared, “Every time a boy comes up, he tells me he doesn’t really like this song.” She added that one even said he preferred Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from DreamWorks’ Trolls.

Chacko, with his quick wit, responded, “Heck to the no! I’m offended,” charming the audience even before they heard his impressive singing voice.

Waste no time. Luke was crushing his rendition of “Let It Go.” His natural talent shone through as he belted out the chorus that added his own inflection and sliding notes to the amazement of the crowd. Menzel was so shocked that she requested he perform the song again.

She asked the cheering audience to quiet down so they could fully appreciate his subtle nuances. “Can you all just shut up for a minute and let him sing it again?” she said. “You’re not hearing all the subtleties because you’re screaming, and that’s OK, but now do it again.”

Luke didn’t disappoint. He sang the song again, ending his rendition by belting out the final note for several seconds while Menzel looked on in disbelief. His performance not only stunned the audience but also left a lasting impression on everyone who witnessed it.
