Crowd Amazed As Mother And Son Perform Aretha Franklin’s 1986 Hit

Mother and son duo Sharon and Brandon, from Kildare Town, gave a stunning performance of Calum Scott’s “You Are The Reason” on Ireland’s Got Talent. Their heartfelt performance, paired with stunning harmonies, captivated the audience and judges alike.

Kennedy ignited excitement in the room as she casually walked over to the judges’ desk, smiling as she hit the golden buzzer. The audience erupted in cheers, and mother and son embraced in an emotional, tearful hug.

Their audition was one of the few to receive this honor, making them stand out in the 2019 season.

Sharon and Brandon reached the semi-finals, determined to leave it all on stage. For their performance, they selected Aretha Franklin’s classic, “I Knew You Were Waiting,” accompanied by just a piano, allowing the heartfelt lyrics and melody to take center stage.

Sharon opened the song, captivating the audience right from the first note. As the performance progressed, a choir joined in, and the powerful harmonies between the duo and the choir elevated the song to a whole new level.

Before stepping onto the Ireland’s Got Talent stage, this mother-son duo had been through an incredibly tough journey. Brandon faced a life-threatening accident that left him on life support. Doctors were unsure if he’d ever recover, and even if he did, they were concerned about lasting physical and mental effects, especially his ability to sing.

Miraculously, Brandon did pull through and made a full recovery. He used this second chance at life to sing with his mother again. And their heartfelt performances quickly won over both the judges and the audience. Their story and talent were truly remarkable.
