David Baldacci

David Baldacci was born August 5, 1960 in Richmond, Virginia, USA. He completed high school at Henrico High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a law degree from the University of Virginia.

David Baldacci began writing at an early age, the habit of writing was created by the mother as she handed him a notebook to David to rewrite his life story. Later on, his mother secretly set the purpose and handed him the notebook simply so that he would not distract her. She said: “Any mother needs to rest and avoid being bothered.” During his practice at a law firm, he switched to writing novels, and his debut Absolute Power was released in 1996 and became a global bestseller. This work was adapted into a film of the same name in 1997 with Clint Eastwood as the director and lead. The book tells the story of a US president and secret agent who murdered the president’s mistress just to cover up the traces of his adultery.

David Baldacci also co-wrote the screenplay for his adaptation of the novel Wish You Well. The film has been very successful and received an Academy Award winner. Baldacci served as production consultant for King & Maxwell, based on the characters Sean King and Michelle Maxwell in his famed Sean King and Michelle Maxwell Series.
